Dr. Michael Giuffrida is an M.D., a board certified plastic surgeon, a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), and a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ASAPS). Dr. Giuffrida earned his medical degree from Tufts Medical School in 1989 after graduating magna cum laude with a B.S. in Biology from Boston College. He graduated a Scholar of the College from B.C. and was recognized for the finest senior research thesis in his graduating class. Dr. Giuffrida prides himself on providing personalized service with strict attention to detail, and helping his patients to achieve aesthetic balance and beauty.

Liposuction

Smart Lipo®
Pioneered in Europe, the SmartLipo procedure is the first laser-assisted liposuction procedure. Smartlipo is a minimally invasive technique that safely coagulates blood vesels resulting in less bleeding and bruising than liposuction alone.SmartLipo uses a carefully calibrated laser to liquefy fat deposits through the top layers of the patient’s skin. The laser actually ruptures fat cells, and the resulting oily, liquid substance is then removed through a tiny incision in the skin by the surgeon. SmartLipo’s patients need only a local anesthetic for this procedure, whereas liposuction requires general anesthesia.
Vaser Lipo®
VASER (Vibration Amplification of Sound Energy at Resonance) Liposuction is a minimally invasive surgical procedure that uses tissue selective ultrasound technology to break up and remove fat cells.
